The day Grace has been waiting months for finally arrived - having her giraffe birthday party. The theme posed a bit of a challenge but with a little creativity and crafting we were able to pull it off. (Meme got in on the crafting too by making an adorable giraffe scrapbook) We had a great day with our extended family celebrating Grace's special day!

At the Zoo
Grace had requested "everything giraffids" for her fourth birthday theme. So today we went to Lowery Park Zoo to visit and feed the giraffes. We were so happy to have Meme join in on the fun - to our surprise we spent six hours there. Here are some pictures....

Our Birthday Girl
Today was Grace's fourth birthday. In addition to her birthday she was preparing for two "big" changes - no more little potty (which went smoothly) and no more Britax car seat. As you can see from the photo she was so excited to be in the new booster seat - a giraffe print one to boot!
Grace had a great day. At dance class the little girls and Miss Erika did a special dance for her to the tune of Disney's Birthday Princess while she stood in the center of the room. We then met Dean for lunch at Chick-Fil-A (Grace's pick). We finished the day with her favorite meal, breakfast for dinner. We all ate so much that we didn't have room for the cupcakes Grace had picked for dessert. So we sang Happy Birthday to her while she opened the cards and packages that she had received in the mail.
It's amazing to believe that four years ago Grace was born halfway around the world but as fate would have it Dean and I are her parents watching her grow and mature, celebrating each birthday with her. We are truly blessed indeed!

Sleepy Girl
Just moments after Grace went skipping through the house there was pure silence. After calling her name and getting no response I went looking for her. To my surprise she was sleeping soundly on the "little nest" she had created for Molly and Sophie in the corner of our bedroom. This is the third nap Grace has taken in the past week - I guess her cold is making her a bit sleepy.

On the Farm
While dropping Grace off at school last week I noticed that the sign-up sheet for her valentines party was on the clipboard. The only thing left to bring was strawberries. When I informed Grace that she would have to bring strawberries to the party she replied "Oh goody we can pick them at the farm". So today we headed to Hunsader's Farm to pick them fresh for her classmates. Here are some of the photos.....
